JMHO....but I guess if a site has to die , it may be better to die like this one has [just fade away ], than what is happening over on Farm Journal.. Agweb. Looks like every thread scammed out to the max. Usually went there a couple times a day to see what BS was going on. Now the BS'ers don't even have a chance to get anything going...LOL

It is a darn shame that they are that lazy to let something like that happen. Too bad we can not get everyone on this site as it has the same clean format as I find Agriculture.com hard to use and follow. Seems that this site has no problem with spam.

I'll post here Me too! I just don't have the brainpower to come up with interesting conversation topics on my own! I could care less what goes on or doesn't at Agweb/Farm Journal. Same goes for agriculture.com.

I willl argue with you, 420, but trouble is I agree with you most of the time.
I suppose I could role play and be glo, since he is banned here.
John SD, I can go to Agtalk (just can't post, on account of garvo, the site's little God, all Hail to Garvo LOL) and get topics and bring them here for folks to ruminate. Most of their topics are stupid though but once in a great while somebody comes up with a good one.
I got in a good fight with a couple of folks on Dairyforums.com about how much income it takes to raise a family nowadays. We could ruminate on that.

I'd like to see this place liven up again.
Most of the original posters have moved to a Face Book site. I went there a few times, but I don't use FB for anything else and just didn't care for it.

Even when we had a couple hundred registered members a day visiting it was hard to get topics started and then they'd bitch because there was nothing here . But they'd post questions on Agtalk or Agweb . DUH ! it takes content to get content .
Add to that many came here because they were mad at their "home" site , well, people get over being mad and go back to the familiar where the same 6 people are arguing minutia , but it "feels" right to the guy wanting to go back "home" .
Forums are born , forums die , it's the way of the internet . With the advent of facebook and a few other social media sites that are way easier to post pics etc , the traditional message boards are taking a hard hit , look around , it's really not the boards or the mods or the members fault , it's just the current trends killing the boards .

I have no corn, beans, or small grain. Actually, I now call myself "gainfully unemployed" I sold the home place where I live to a neighbor but get to live here as long as I want. I drink coffee and look out the window when the neighbor comes over to feed cows. Still have another place 17 miles away. Rent out summer pasture there. Take in 60 pairs and have 200 acres of hay to do. Except last year of course. Not looking too promising yet for the coming season, but we still have time to get some precip. No dairy at all around here anymore. We milked 12 cows by hand and sold cream when I was a kid. Also had sheep, hogs, and 500 laying hens.

I like this place too but have spent more time on Facebook. Lately haven't spent a lot of time anywhere, just been busy here. Seems like you get to know people more personally on FB but discuss topics more on here or others. I think if Marland would provide a free drink each week to the top poster on here at the Padua Pub, then there'd be more posters here!! www.facebook.com/pages/Padua-Pub/144727632123
