Ok, One dude armed with Gun was in Pursuit of a youngster. The youngster was moving in the opposite direction of the armed Dude. Armed dude was told NOT to pursue. Youngster was armed with a Sidewalk. Youngster Dead. Armed Dude Free. Oh OK, I got it now.......... No, I don't think you got it at all. Dude was following and observing youth. That's different from pursuing. It's perfectly legal. Dude was NOT told not to do that. He was told "We don't need you to do that." By a non-emergency 911 operator, who has no authority, and Dude replied. "OK." Youth was only traveling towards Dude, after he did an about face and got in Dude's face. The change of direction was made to allow Youth to place himself in close enough proximity to Dude to hit him. To this point, Youth hitting Dude was the first unlawful act. Youth used his sidewalk weapon on Dude, and Dude retaliated by using his gun weapon on Youth. Now Youth knows the consequences of bringing a sidewalk to a gun fight, and all of the world knows that Florida is willing to allow legally armed citizens to use their weapons to defend themselves. Got it now?

Actually I do. But Im not sure that you do, so let me help ya out here...
You seem to Gloss over this little fact :
The young Minor was only standing his ground, while in fear for his life, because he was being stalked by a strange man who had a gun.
"The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a sidewalk is a good guy with a sidewalk."

I don't think so. Young Trevon was well on his way to being home unmolested when he did an about face and wailed on George.
Wrong move.

OK, So suppose I follow you home one night in my truck while you take a leisurely stroll on the cow path to your estate. I decide I don't like your choice of attire. I might even have slammed a few bourbons earlier.
So I roll down my window and tell you as much in a jokingly manner.
You however blow your top and attack my truck with your manly fists. I get out, and we have additional assaults equally. I see that funny look in your eye and decide to grab my gun and save my life by ending yours on the spot.
Should I be arrested and tried in court ? Or will your neighbors all say " Well, we figured he'd end up like that some day....."
What say you ?

I say: The law of Florida states that the minute you feared for loss of life, or great bodily harm, you were within your rights to defend yourself with deadly force.
None of which bears much of a resemblance to the Martin/Zimmerman case.

I can't believe he got off Scott free. Why? He broke no laws.

None of us were there, but he was looking for trouble, if you ask me. Should have just minded his own business.

But these are opinions, and other than a feel good scenario they have no place in a trial like this.
There was no evidence presented that indicated he was "looking for trouble" and there is no law requiring him to "mind his own business." If his business was monitoring the neighborhood then he was doing a fine job.

Or will your neighbors all say " Well, we figured he'd end up like that some day....." What say you ? That is not how it played out AJ....more like this I follow you home one night in my truck trying to decide if you are the fellow who has been stealing my cattle You blow your top and attack my truck with your manly fists. As I'm trying to get my truck turned around so I can leave, you drag me through the truck window and kick the shit out of me. I decide to grab my gun and save my life by ending yours on the spot. Should I be arrested and tried in court ? ....No you just acted in self defense. All the kid who got killed had to do was go home, and this would have not happened. Instead he turned around and attacked Zimmerman....he didn't ask "what do you want"...he just started kicking the crap out of him. The kid was a thug that was always fighting and causing trouble, not the cute 12 year old the media portrayed. The media also never talked about Zimmerman leading a protest last year when the police beat a BLACK homeless man, or that he sponsored two BLACK youth (I think with help in school)
