Odds evened out or way in your favor??? I like the play on words. I doubt that someone my age would attack me but even if they did I'd want the odds in my favor. I suppose you would rather I'd say, "wait a minute, I've got a gun, let me put it down so this fight will be fair". Where do you live? In a jail, where you're well protected?

How many robberies have they had in that gated community? Lets say your son shot a deer, that deer crossed into my woods,I see someone sneaking into my woods with a gun dressed like a sniper, can I cap his ass?

Where are you trying to drive this wreck? The wheels are coming off your whole argument. However let's continue on. If you go up to the son, and attempt to tell him he's not welcome on your property and he threatens you, or you feel that your life is threatened, then by the laws we're discussing, yes you can legally "Cap His Ass." However what deer hunter dresses like a sniper, I suspect in camo, unless he's hunting archery? So you want to "cap his ass" for stepping on your property? That Probably Makes you even more aggressive than Martin was, so you best put your skittles down and make your first shot count.

No need to talk to him,he is suspicious looking, and he is trespassing, he has a gun ,I can see that much, the neighbors were robbed by some meth-head who was wearing an old army jacket, could be the same fella. Why would I approach a suspicious looking armed trespasser?

You can kill all the young black Floridians you want, but if this happened to anyone I cared about I would kill the shooter myself.

What I don't understand is why did Z shoot to kill? Or did he just mean to wound Martin and not kill him?
I'm just not a fan of guys with guns in the streets.

You have some guy sitting on your chest, pounding your head into the cement....who has already broke your nose....and you are going to try to shoot him in the knee cap. Give me a break.

What he meant to do was stop Martin from bashing his head in. Martin was on top of him so he fired into main body mass. Don't come to PA. We're a "Shall issue state" Lots of us have weapons on us on the streets and you never know it 'til you turn and start beating on us.

The whole thing sounded like one big fluster cuck. No one will ever know exactly how the whole thing went down.
Martin wasn't pounding on my chest or breaking my nose. How/why did Z put himself in that position? Who really knows? We are only getting one side of the story. The other guy ain't talking.

No, but you have the eye witness from across the street that didn't know Z or TM............he testified that the TM was the aggressor. .

What I don't understand is why did Z shoot to kill? Or did he just mean to wound Martin and not kill him? I'm just not a fan of guys with guns in the streets. cousinit, when i got my concealed carry they told me that i could not pull my firearm on anyone unless my life was in grave danger. they also said that if you are shooting to wound then your life is not in grave danger. the reason you shoot to kill is because if you dont immediately stop the attacker then you will be dead. if you are shooting to wound in iowa and you admit to that then you will be thrown in jail. so, ill explain a bit more... you are supposed to shoot to kill, but if the first shot (which is supposed to be a kill shot) doesnt kill the attacker but he turns around and runs away, you can not follow to "finish the kill" if the threat has left then you are done defending unless it appears he is to harm someone else immediately. this is why a shot in the back will almost always land you in jail. the bullet needs to enter from the front as the attacker is faced towards you. when having a gun (which is taking on responsibility) these scenarios and many more are very important to understand. it can make the difference between lives getting destroyed by unnecessary bullets or jail time... from what i read on zimmerman, he done it all textbook. i guess that is why the verdict is the way it is... i don't doubt a word you said except the reference to book. It was a very controversial deal nonetheless, so there must have been a question as to how "book" it really was.
