Pulled these today. Will I do my part to get us the 146 (I think that is what USDA last said is out there)? I guess it depends on how many of each type ear there are in a field....and that I'm not sure of. I should add....there were barren stalks in spots also. Yield maps are going to be colorful this year. One thing I do find interesting, is that both of the nice ears are refuse corn (Dekalb 61-72). I remember in the "mold year" we had in this area a few years ago...........the triple stacks took it hard and the refuse looked good. Makes me wonder. Attachments:

John it seems like it's always raining up north. Seriously you are dry there?
We got .3 tonite and a little more coming down. Looks like tonite's rain went mostly to Manty County and down around Madison. Also looks like a decent widespread rain through the corn belt.

Pat : Only way to measure rainfall here over the last 5 days is in number of drops...it all went north or south of us. Alfalfa is the only hay crop growing...corn looks OK , but some areas curl during heat of the day...beans appear to be OK but corn and beans will sure fill better with a rain sooner rather than later. Oh well , maybe the next system will be ours. John

John. We got over 3.5 inches in 3 different events in the last 24 hours. Wish I could give some of that to you. It is way too much given that we were probably just about right before that......the cornfields are flooded and there's standing water in old hayfields.

Pat : This morning at 4:00 am when I headed north to feed the critters , overhead the stars were about as bright as I have ever seen !!! However to the northeast and east nothing but continous lightning....Guessing that was your last rain event...rain seems to bring rain....and dry areas just get drier!!! Sometimes the weather just plain sucks !!!! John

Got 2 more inches of rain this evening. Seriously, it can stop raining for awhile. Tile pump is running non-stop.

ac, for a moderator, you have a bit of an attitude. what would make me happy is you getting off my a$$. if your corn was under water, you'd be complaining just as much as if it was hot, or dry, or froze, or insect-ridden.

I just asked if anything made you happy . Simple question. My crop is burnt to a crisp, do you here me complaining. My neighbor started chopping his yesterday. 0 yield on it. When you think you got it tough , someone else has it tougher.

ac, do you have insurance? If so, how tough do you REALLY have it?
If you don't, well, I don't have an answer for you.
Watching your corn burn is not necessarily rendering you financially bankrupt. It's more of an emotional thing than a financial thing.
Ever stop to think what will happen if there is not enough corn to go around? What if you were on the other end of that scenario? You at least have your taxpayer subsidized check.

Does anything make you happy? Do you know which month women complain the least? February Only 28 days I was told "Farmers" the first time I heard the joke

Keep it to "Farmers", John.
Who is complaining the most on here? Corn farmers watching their crops burn. boo hoo. No sympathy here. You have 85% coverage (or could have had).
