I ran down to my local convenience store to refill my , umm , life support system . Anyway I go back out to my 99 Chevy 1500 and it won't crank , Got all the lights and everything just no rolling over . If it was older I'd think neutral switch cause that's how it acts . oh and we did throw jumper cables on it just for practice .
Didn't have a light to check anything , and other than running through the fuses and relays I'm kind of stumped . anyone have any ideas ?

No click or slow starter rollover? Just nothing?
Can you jump the starter and it will start?
Chevy still run the rod down the steering column to the plastic slide with all the wires attached? I seen those get out of adjustment. On accessory radio still work and turn on?
Yours don't have one of those special keys with the chip in it does it?
Whats this mornings analysis of the sit-chee-ation?

Just got back from cleaning a bin . Fixing to go out after I scarf down some lunch . Nawww Rich, when I turned the key I could hear relays kicking and all kinds of light lit up like normal just no action from the starter at all .

Maybe the starter just crapped out. I had an '01 that did that...parked it, went a couple hours later to leave and nothin...had 38,000 miles on it and luckily the dealer warrantied the replacement AND the tow bill.

If your hearing clicking.... when you push the key over to start.... and no action from the starter..... I'm tempted to believe that your solenoid went kaput.... UNLESS!.... Yer batterys bad or you got a crummy connection.
Again... Do the easy things first..... Clean your cables and put a load tester on the battery. Make sure your cables are tight and clean. Some of the concoctions I've seen take place on this farm makes a person wonder how in the hell anything got juice to start and then when it didn't everyone wondered why it didnt' work anymore. Sheesh...
Go get a coke.... Crack it open, take a drink,, then stuff your cable ends in it and clean em up.
Lemme guess... Your running an Interstate battery arn't you? That... or an orscheln's special. Those two companys shouldn't be in the battery business.

Got a good look at the cable to the starter , that connection is rusted so it's been hot. All the fuses and relays pass the visual inspection. Gonna have a buddy come by and help me get it on the concrete so I can jack it up safely. *&&%%$ low riding 4x4 , and see if that thing will come out without sawz-alling a hole in the fender .

My 97 chevy does that once in a while but mine seems to be in the switch as I just fiddle the it a time or two and it's good to so .

Sounds like the starter is dead. My 01 did that at 38k just out of warranty. Brother had one th >:(at also did that but the battery was completely dead. Jumping it didnt work but the new battery did..
