Alright AC gurus I have a 98 chevy 3500 that I feed hay with and the AC is cycling on and off like it is low on freon I hooked the guages up and tried putting some in but it wouldn't take just kept cycling every few seconds I even shorted the low pressure switch and it still wouldn't take freon low pressure was around 30 when it was running and would hit 80 when it was off before it cycled on again I thing the high side was reading around 240-250
Any ideas

I'm a rookie in this area, but learning with the help of the other guys here.
Start with the simple stuff. Check the connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Clean out the condenser, check to make sure your engine fan is kicking on at the right temp, etc.
Is it cold??

I had one that did the same . Took it to the chevy place. They found a walmart bag that had been sucked into the cab intake . Boy, talk about expensive.

Thanks guy I figured it out for some reason the end on my guages isn't working correctly I have one of those cheap little deals that hook to the ac and hooks to a canwith no guages so I thought i would hook that up and see what happened and it took a full can in just a few seconds put the hose back that is on my quages and it wouldn't take put the cheap little hose on and it took another can then I found the leak in the AC it is the o-ring on the top of the compressor so going to take the connetion off and get new o rings next time I am in town
Now I got to figure out what is wrong with the guages is either the HOSE that hooks to the can or the one that hooks to the AC
