I'm thinking about getting one for it. See if it won't increase fuel mileage on trips and give her a lil more grunt pulling the trailer. I want one I can change pretty easy depending on situations the pickup is being used.
Any first hand experience to be shared with them? Got one of the diesel.. Love it. Had one for the 5.7 that was in the 97 chevy... Brought that pickup to life.
What I've read about the ones for the 5.4 ford they arn't worth the money since that engine is already at the peak of it's performance it can deliver... which is pitiful at best.
What bout the 6.8 L V10?
Thanks

Bullshit. Superchips really woke my 5.4L up. I wouldnt be afraid of one. How long you had it hooked up? Did you see any improvement in mpg too? How much hp did you increase it and did you have to do any mods such as a fuel pump change out? Thanks. If It really speeds that 5.4 up I am very interested in one. Stock... as you know, they are a 3 legged dog on smack.... Sloowwww and gutless.

I'd be interested too in the one for a V10. What brands or types are available? Is there more than one available?

I'm fairly certain superchips makes one and Also Hypertech.
I'm still in the learning stages so I'm not sure on the others. I will probably be studying this one more over the winter. Before I purchase one I want to hear from some owners that have used the certain brands and what thier thoughts are.
Probably am going to have to visit a ford pickup site and ask some questions.

I had a chip in one of mine, but can't recall what the name of it was @ the moment. I actually still had it in my possession about a year ago and just gave it away. Might have helped fuel mileage a bit, and it did seem like it had a little more "go". I did not send it back if that tells you anything.

I've had it on since march or so. I leave it set in Heavy Tow most of the time, but sometimes if going on a road trip will kick it over to Mileage save. I also have a K&N cold air intake. I knwo some do not like them...I have never had a problem. No gravel roads here at all, however. In fact, I have only driven on one gravel road in my almost 27 years. I didnt notice a "huge" mileage gain. Maybe 1-1.5 mpg. I rarely go on a long trip, mostly short hops. Truck is an 08 and just over 21K on it if that tells you anything. Most of the towing I do is pulling a 5800 lb pulling tractor and ATV on a Corn Pro 20+5 GN. It pulls some wagons and implements from time to time. I originally bought the tuner to keep the transmission in order, as it would want to hunt for a gear really bad on the interstate at 65-70 mph, even with the OD locked out. Pic is a year old. Truck now has mud tires, steps, P&H cushion bumper and a nice toolbox. Cab lights are next, should be factory I think. The tires did hurt the mileage some, but no one that buys a truck like this for work purposes buys solely based on mileage. It is not a real big concern to me...I do not want a diesel.

Maybe someone makes a tuner like they have for motorcycles. With them you can make all the changes you want to on your computer and then transfer it all to the ECM on the motorcycle. Of course you have to have some idea of what to do. I've got three of them for all our Harley's and I can sure make them run better with them. You can change A/F ratio's, ignition timing and manipulate some other things it does.
