I bought a new to me dodge last week. I traded my 2002 gas quad cab 1500 for a 2005 5.9 cummins 3500. Wow, what a difference in towing the trailer. The dealer in my home town really impressed me with their desire to gain me as a customer. Fuel milage appears to me roughly 25 MPG (CDN) empty and towing a 9000 lb trailer for 200 miles the average was 15 MPG. The 25 MPG was empty with the cruise set at 120 km/hr or 70 mph. Any comments?

You'll love it....... I love the design of them and that late 5.9 is one heck of a good motor. Your mileage sounds real good too. Is it a auto or 6 speed? Have any performance upgrades? The great thing about that motor is you could pull 15K around and see very little drop in mileage. If there's any weak link, it'd be the tranny, you can easily tune that motor to make more torque than it can handle, so make sure to keep tabs on fluid level, how clean the cooler is and change the fluid per specs. If you decide to add power be careful. Other than that enjoy the cummins power.
