Thoughts on using Headline for alfalfa and/or corn, please.
We used it last year and had very good results on both these crops. We applied it to 3rd crop alfalfal. Now some posters on another site are telling me I'm full of it and I need to prove that I'm happy. I don't feel obligated to prove anything. I'm not selling it.
We did have favorable weather last year in our area. Should we gamble and buy it again before March 15 in order to get a $50/gallon rebate? It's pretty pricey stuff.

I used it on some corn last year. I cant really tell you if it worked since the severe drought we had screwed that all up. Im going to try alittle again this year and see what happens.

Cousin : Boss used some on 3rd alfalfalast year and thought it helped yield but did not do any actual weight, protein tests , etc., so maybe it just looked better because he had spent the money !!! To me proof should be confirmed by more wt. per acre or higher protein or something besides looking better.

cousinit ; We put headline at 6 oz early spring green up with maxN boron and manganeze and ascend. We followed up after 2nd and 3rd crop with 4oz headline Tremendous response and will do all alfalfa fields this year We had a better respnse with the MaxN products and ascend in addition to the headline. We cut on a 26 day schuedule with average height of 26 inches and RFV OF APPROX 170 Our yields for first 3 crops were about 6.5 to 7 ton DM for first 3 crops. You will see the best response from using these products on first crop . We have seen limited reponse from headline on corn. Corn silage from fields treated with headline might feed a little better because of less molds and less plant deseases

df was giving me a hard time. I don't know the feed test results but I do know that our cows have never milked more than they do right now. Now we have made other changes as well, like we started using Oxyblast in January and that's supposed to make cows drink more water. Our feed tests came back good but how good is good? Our alfalfa looked better than the neighbor's on the same cutting schedule.

Went to a meeting on using it on alfalfa a couple weeks ago. They were claiming .4 ton increase on 1st & 2nd cutting, less on later cuttings.Usually spraying for leaf hoppers anyway on the 2nd cutting so probably be throwing it in with the insecticide.
