Sick and tired of the 3310 holley on it now. IHC MV446 engine. Horrible low end metering and i'm sick of %%*/&% with it. What would be a good replacement carb? Been looking at edelbrock (carter) carbs and just seeing if anybodys been this route.
Much obliged

"Been looking at edelbrock (carter) carbs "
Good ones to look at and have. Next thing before a guy recommends a cfm rating is how many cubes are you fueling?

446? What sorta antique fustercluck you running? A binder? I ain't ever heard of that cube'd engine.
If a 454 can handle an 800cfm carb then a 446 is going to need more then 650 or your going to be starving it.
Unless.... It's only a 2 barrel manifold.
Which is another question I forgot to ask you. What is the original? Most old trucks.. at least for GM... came out with 2 barrel carbs on them..... But that was in the small blocks too. I'm not familiar with the big blocks in the trucks.
I'm going to say from what I know so far, Nothing less then 700. 750 be better. Mpg is the farthest thing from a concern on this rig... you want to be able to pull that load up an incline without peaking the top in the bottom hole...

I put a edelbrock carb on a 81 chevy 305, my old on the farm beater. It had a Quadrajunk that had been rebuilt 2 times. I am very happy with the edelbrock. I don't have a clue how big of one you need.
