You asked what milo to plant for silage in another thread and I couldn't find it. Anyway I think what you are looking for is Pioneer 84 G 62. Pretty sure that's what the irrigation guys use. It does get tall if conditions are right, like shoulder high, but has been know to yield 160 bu or so. I think the top yielding milo, nationally, was grown at Smith Center Kansas this year at 186 dryland and I think this was the number.

I will investigate. Anyone know about running milo through a kernel processor?

I don't know if you can squeeze a kernel processor down that tight or not. Prolly could.
I got to thinking about another hybred. Northrup King has a silage feed, N300, that gets tall, like six feet or so, and has a huge head like milo has. I've seen some of it that looked like it could go 80 bpa. Lots of guys use it a round here for silage.

The best sorghum silage that we have used is FS-5. It used to be a DeKalb number but it is now sold by Forage First ( I think that is the name ). Great tonnage and feed value. We tried nk-300 once, but the FS-5 had almost double the tonnage and better feed value, in that particular year on our ground.
