My 4250 is light in the back end, even with 18.4R38 radials and liquid ballast, when handling round bales. A 15 minute solution that took a length of square tubing, a couple pieces of chain, and 2 500# cast wheel weights from a Case 500. Much better balance now! Attachments:

Do you not have a set of forks or spear to go on the back? I always just pick up another bale on the back.

Roy I would be using the 3pt as the primary baler picker-upper anyway and save on the tractor front end. A double bale fork on the back will actually take weight off the front. Neighbor has a Stur-D double bale fork like mine on his 4250. He goes with 2 bales on each end.

John, Roy- nope, no bale forks for back end. This was just a quick deal, that stangely seems to be working well! The bale forks are on the list somewhere....
Angus- you should have heard the sailing words when the new baler got yanked off the jack. Thats why the transport chain was in the "project pile".

I know a couple of mothers in law that would work equally well for ballast. He he.

Are you kidding, I have yet to see a wheel weight that talks! These do! When wheel weights look like yours, I have a hard time 'seeing' anything above the neck ... therefore, it's impossible to tell if they can talk or not.
