Need to replace a injector in a N14 Cummins Celect (holly jitt $500 ) plus tomorrow. This is the first electronic injector I’ve done and don’t want to muck it up. Any experiences/advice would be appreciated.

I have absolutely no worthy advice to give you on doing the job and correctly but I am going to tell you right now you got by cheap with that injector.
Where did you get it at?
I heard a price a helluva lot higher then that at the local truck shop.

Mid-states Cummins in Bloomington, IL has them for $360 a piece, cheaper if you buy all 6-buy 5 get one free.
I could use a couple in my N14 but haven't gotten around to it.
I want to cross CPL's to the next size bigger injector. My CPL is 2592 (factory 460 uprated to 525) and #2659 is a factory 525 with a bigger tip.....bit more fuel and smoke!?
But to answer your question, if you've ever changed one in a Big Cam III, the N14 is supposed to be easier.

Got it swapped out today, no issues and seems to have fixed the problem. Here’s what I found. Holes in filtration ring and a dimple worn in the injector barrel. Attachments:

So what was the problem that led you to swap out the injector...?
I don't remember the exact prices on the injectors but what I posted was pretty close. The buy 5 get the 6th 'free' amounted to about $280 a piece or $360/per.
