Ok guys my neice has a 99 ford with a 7.3 in it it will idle fine but when you get the RPMs up it starts crapping out and has No power she took it to a shop and the computer showed a cam positioning sensor was bad they changed that and also put a new ecm in it then it throwed a throttle positioning sensor code so they have replaced that truck still does the exact same thing it has been to 2 supposedly good shops and they can't seem to figure it out any ideas or experience with something similar the shops have been good about not gouging her on the labor as the first shop anly charged her $80 plus parts and the 2nd has only charged her an hrs labor and parts for the TPS they are just baffled or idiots I don't know which could the High pressure Oil pump be the problem , wiring harness for the injectors? ? worst thing they ever did was put eletronics on diesel engines IMO

my '96 did that and it was the wiring harness for the injectors. When my cam sensor went out it just died and would not start.
Sounds to me like they are idiots. You really should have her go to a diesel mechanic. Not the local "can do any thing" shop.

Thanks These are both Diesel shops one is supposed to be the "best" in the area for Ford diesels and the other one is a pretty well established shop
