This is a windrow splitter I came up with I use when baling small sq. bales. It allows me to rake windrows that end up with much more uniform bales than the big double swath windrows. And raking with the twin rake saves half my raking time. I use a NH balewagon to pick the idiot bricks up, so bale uniformity is pretty important. Attachments:

That's pretty awesome Angus. You should apply for a patent. Or at the very least put in "Farmshow" magazine.

That looks nice Angus. It's neat seeing someone's idea that they put together and it works out well!

I am thinking that might even make hay cure out faster if raked a little green. How does it work in real heavy hay?

So far the little bit of heavy hay that I've raked with it in ? (5 years maybe), it didn't perform much differently than in light hay other than there is a lot more 'springyness' to each seperate windrow. Big windrows aren't welcomed by my small baler /balewagon combo too well, so I try and avoid them if possible.

drive slower, = feeds slower, = smaller more uniform tabs and bale size.
also the tighter the tension the more uniform the size.
