For those of you who book/prepay your winter propane needs, what are you seeing for prices? I have a quote for $1.95 for my needs around the farm, and $1.79 for our local church (6000 gallons prepay).
An interesting nugget from one of my conversations yesterday was that a supplier told me "all contracting is on hold". Apparently, they didn't book enough with the wholesaler. When they went looking for more, the price had gone up 15 cents in one days time....

"Yikes" is an understatement if I'm reading the chart correctly...15 fewer days of supply this year compared to last year? And this year the US has a 59 day supply? WTF is going on?

I am fascinated by propane. The propane market is all physical with no futures. It is a far stronger market than crude oil, especially when deflation hits. When deflation starts spiraling out of control, both silver and crude oil take a beating, while propane and gold hang tough.
While there are no derivatives in propane, it does have speculators. Myself and other Doomers buy it in lui of equities. It has an indefinite shelf life. You can't believe how many Doomers are out here. I believe there is a massive underground demand for propane by hoarders.
