It's a little late for some, but here is an interesting piece from ISU on applying StrategoYLD and Leverage in various combination and at R1 and R3. www.extension.iastate.edu/CropNews/2011/0731robertsonmueller.htmThere is no significant difference between an insecticide alone and a tankmix including fungicide and insecticide, however, the tankmix provided the highest yield in the trial. The insecticide provided a statistically higher yield than fungicide alone. FYI for those thinking of this approach. We applied the tank mix to approx half of our soybean acres. We'll see in the fall if it worked. When applied, we had a building population of jap beetles and decided to pull the trigger before they hit threshold based on saving some of those $13 dollar beaners.

As fast as our corn is coming on, I expect us to not only have an early harvest, but one in which we struggle to harvest corn before it gets below 17%. Last year, the beans got so dry, we had to quit shelling corn to harvest beans. This year, we sprayed fungicides on the beans hoping to push maturity back ten days or so, maybe we can finish corn before going to beans.

Spraying fungicide to hold back maturaty seems kind of expensive to me. I agree with eci on the fungicide insecticide thing on beans seems insecticide helps yield much more than the fungicide.

We're to the point it doesn't really matter.I'm not tossing any more money out just to save crop ins.a few bucks. It sucks but that's life.
