anybody got any ideas to get johnson grass out a bermudagrass field? I don't have a whole lot of it and have been going around with a spot sprayer and RUP but the darn stuff keeps coming back.

Will that work in something that's going to wheat this fall? I have one field that's pretty bad with it.

Yes but I wanted to put it on now. The wheat won't be planted for six or eight weeks.

I sure haven't had much luck with Poast getting rid of the Johnson grass in my alfalfa

I agree but how do you do that. I've talked to my chemical people and they all say just use roundup but that's what I've been doing and am not getting anywhere. One guy said use select but thought it was a waste because it wouldn't do any thing the roundup wouldn't do.

You prolly got seed all over the ground from years of JG heading out. Gonna take a while to work through that. JG seed might be like cheatgrass seed, viable for years. It's gonaa be a long term approach no matter what you use, but we had pretty decent control well into the second year after initial app of 2X rate in standing johnson grasss.

We have tons of Johnsongrass, the rhizome is hard to kill even with Roundup. Everything has to be perfect.
