Tom You may have to type slower for me to understand LMAO remeber I'm from IN. ! Anyway are you just planning to raise straight alfafa or are you planting a mix hay ?? If a mix there is not any options for a mix , what ever kills J-grass will kill the timothy. If just alfafa there are many choices like Poast , Prowl H2o , Pursuit, Raptor . Just thinking here if it's a mix hay J-grass grows pretty fast , would a wick rope on a loader tractor work ? just go over the top of the hay and before the j grass heads ?? Ken

Gee Wizz Tom !!! give a day or two ! LMAO But really here's the deal , your in WV , right ? and I'm in IN . All my book's are for my area , this makes it very hard to tell you what you may need because , belive this or not there are some chemicals that can't be spray'd north of 70 and some can't be used in some state . But I'll give it a wirl , lol Ken

I have no problem jewing with a salesman. I don't get the lowest prices and then go back around. I just make up low prices to start with and try to call his bluff. Don't tell me you are only making 50cents a gallon and then knock 2 dollars off. That just doesn't add up.
At the same time. one thing that bothers me is when a supplier/wholesaler prices themselves out of the market and then gets upset with its local/regional sellers. I have a very very close friend who sells chemicals for a very large well known wholesaler. And this spring. I could buy most all chemicals (generic or name brand) from the hardware store cheaper than he could get them from his supplier. Then they had a sellers meeting and told him that he didn't sell enough. That wasn't his fault. That was the wholesalers fault for priceing him out of the market even with zero percent profits.

Tom : First off I have not done much of what your asking , the wheat , hay deal . I have spent some time with my chemical books this weekend , the problem is I find one that will work but not with the others . If I were you I would contact your Weed Doctor at a University , I will send your question to ours at Purdue and see what he thinks . As for burn down you can spray Glyphosate , Gramoxone or Paazone ( paraquat ) Sorry but better for me to wave the white flag than getting you in troble or screwing up a field . Ken
