Found this site; www.rockvalleyhay.com/site/alfalfa-grass.htmlHoly mackeral!! I was feeling bad cause I didn't hit the low when I bought up my hay for this fall.... Now I'm gonna defer sitting my wrists. I should have the Ol Lady start putting up ditch hay. I can get her a Farmall M and a sickle mower and a square baller and be off to the races!

looter-linsal : I am a seller and price according to quality. Have had exactly no one try to jack me around this year !! I have trouble getting loads off the field without getting stopped and being asked " Have you got this load sold? If not I'll take it ." Its a good problem to have, as a seller of course!!! John

John That's fascinating.... I need to call around tomorow and see if I can hook some on the cheap. Last week I talked to a hermit about his hay crop. I bought some of his stellar alfalfa for $50/ton last year. He said he wanted $60/ton for his 2nd cutting. I told him I'd give him $65 straight across for all of it just so I could sorta sleep at night. I think if I pound the phone hard for 8 straight hours tomorrow I can find me another hermit...

I can't kill the day tomorrow looking for an ignorant hermit with hay. The ol lady informed me that tomorow is that day that happens each month I don't go to work, I'm required to create an heir for her Dad's mega plantation. By Monday, even the hermits will know about the stealthy bull-market in hay. This puts me at an enormous disadvantage. They only way she caan make up this sacrifice is to sign a note for an M Farmall and a square baler and go after ditch hay.

Looter---are you going to get your old lady a baler with a thrower? You'll have to buy some bale racks as well...might hurt your ROI...prolly would be better to just drop the bales and have her pick them up while you're driving the M. As I recall, she's on an exercise program...you'd just be helping her out...

We've been selling prairie hay left and right. Sold out of round bales on the 20th of july and now selling little squares. Sold a load of squares for over $100 a ton this morning headed down to Oklahoma
