Along the same lines as putting your kid in a bucket.....now someone (who I actually usually like over on the other site), is suggesting that getting a kid's ear pierced at a young age is child abuse.
Then someone else (who I also usually agree with), chimes in and says that beating kids with a whip or a belt isn't child abuse. It's discipline.
I once again am dumbfounded by the differences of opinion on hot topics such as this. I disagree with both of the above posters. Especially beating kids. This is not an acceptable method of discipline. If you have to inflict physical pain on your kid to get the point across, you are letting anger rule your life. You are, to me, out of control.

I got my ass fanned quite often as a kid. I NEVER recall my parents being angry when they did it. I recall being out of control, and that being a last resort.
A mother that will sit back and allow someone to punch holds in her child's flesh for purely cosmetic reasons does scare the hell out of me.

Well Ron does holding a couple week old baby boy down scare the Hell out of you too ? I remember trying to leave that weird little ceremony but they grabbed me by the diapers and showed me the knife. It was all over then.......

It was all over then....... Yes! Parents that mutilate their kid's bodies are bad, parents that pay to have their kid's bodies mutilated are dumb.
