here is the whole article www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-13/kubota-expects-yen-to-push-sales-to-record-as-it-chases-deere.htmlI'm trying to think of who they would even buy? One of the Agco lines? dout it they just keep buying companies. New Holland? have heard a few rumblings about NH tractors being phased out eventually. Any ideas? Kubota Corp. (6326), the Japanese farm- tractor maker seeking an overseas purchase of as much as $2 billion, said the weakening yen will push sales to a record in the next fiscal year and won’t curb its acquisition appetite. Masumoto has approached acquisition targets that own large tractors and aims to settle a deal by the end of the year, he said, without naming any companies. Masumoto wants Kubota to become the world’s top producer of farm equipment by overtaking Deere in the long term. “Ten years from now, we want to be seen as a real threat to Deere,” the president said. That is one goal that will be hard to reach. The U.S. market is already saturated with large (150 hp+) tractors can the market even stand another brand?

If corn drops to 4 bucks like some are suggesting, tractors will be cheap,John Deere will have problems paying their help. Maybe they buy Buhler, they could stand an update.

They have been rumored to buy Versatile from or all of Rostlemash(sp?) for a few weeks now.
Just a rumor, but would be curious what brand strategy they would use. Sepearate lines and colors like AGCO or absorb it like Deere and see orange BIG equipment.

Versatile would be a good choice. They don't have any small hp tractors and Kubota has no large hp tractors.
