Maybe this should run in the forages section but anyway...I am looking to start improving my soils with the implementation of cover crops...seen may stories on "cocktails" and wonder what you guys and gals think...I am going to graze cattle on them as well as try and keep some cover thru the winter...my location kinda limits my planting to winter wheat stubble to obtain enough growing days after harvest...any ideas how to plant into corn or beans...

I think cover crops are a great idea, and I am trying to get my farmers interested,I broadcast some cereal rye last fall on a rolling farm, good cover and stopped erosion, now if I can get em to burn it down and no till it instead of working it...

420 : When using rye as a cover after grain corn , is there some kind of beneficial weed control result for the following crop Not sure but believe I read that somewhere. May try it this Fall if I can get some corn off in Oct. John
