I was sitting in the local sale barn today and saw a few groups of heifers sell. They had been with the bull but when preg checked were open. They sold fairly reasonable. What are the chances that these heifers would become bred if they were synched and put out with a bull for 90 days? Or would it just be a low percentage, say under 70%, that would actually take.

in a 'normal' year, heifers open at the end of the breeding season are 'suspect', but this year due to the heat, I'm gonna try and breed the opens again for fall calving, and see how they preg check in about 90-120 days.
I'm thinking 'if' the drought ends, it will be worth giving them one more shot.
