Combining beans here lately and the radio will lose the fm stations. Switch to Am and they work. WTH ? It seems to come and go whenever it has a notion. Could be 5 minutes next time an hour . I don't have it blaring cause i like to listen to the combine but i do like to listen to it in the background if that makes any sense ? Could it be the antenna outside or internal in the radio? Thoughts?
Thanks Brian

I would start with the antenna, probably in how it enters the cab. That was the problem area for my JD 4760 for the same type of problem. FM requires a good antenna system where AM is drives more power and is not as reliant on an antenna for pick up.

if your antenna has a spring at the base, the wire that runs inside the spring 'could' be broken. easy to check with a short piece of wire (jumper wire) ... touch the bare ends of the jumper to different areas around, and including, the spring on the antenna ... if the radio works, solder the wire to the antenna where it makes the radio work the best. Fixed a couple different antennas like this.

Going to try the outside antenna in the morn . Took the radio out and everything seemed to be good . Today it was off for about an hour than it picked up and was on till after dark .
Weird !!!
