Crunching up the numbers, it looks like USDA added 2.3 million planted acres over their March estimate.
Hmmm..... trying to cool down the market?
Won't matter if the corn belt continues the drought pattern. The private research firms will again trump USDA later in the growing season.

USDA again trying to use a year supply a year in advance of one day market work for them. But that's not enough for them they want a two year supply in advance of a one day market even if it does not exist. Even mention of the whole crop no matter if it exist creates it in the market and put an over supply damper on the market.
This type of posts would not be allowed on the other forum heavy handed over current of non crop farmers.
With folks going to visit the moderator to see and point out to the world that he also grows crops too. Of course it is not noted that he is better off with corn at 2 per bushel taking the ldp and feeding his crops since he feeds them anyway.

That report traded for about 2 minutes. For once the chicago idiots realize it was a joke and weather is the big driving force in the markets. Im not a betting man but I will say corn will be scarce by the end of July and with what little we will raise come fall there will not be much to be had come april of next year unless a miracle happens. When the local processor is paying 70 over basis they are not doing that because they have money to burn. JMO

I often wonder is USDA is relevant in the market to anyone but farmers.
They continually prove they can't get the numbers right, even when they have those numbers reported to them.

I wonder if someone could point out to anna the dimwit who made this post way back in May?
Folks were trying to guess the market and wondering if prices were going south... We may have a very small corn harvest this year.

From my perspective the drought has expanded and some of the wheat here froze. I'm not sure but I think we still have over 7 billion folks on this planet and China is now banking us (buying banks).
