After dealing unsuccessfully for a week with Sprint, Blackberry, and a bunch of idjits that refuse to just tell you the truth, and probably don't know the truth, the local electronics store got a new battery for Donna's phone. (Sprint stores don't carry batteries for phones they sell.)
The battery came with a 2 battery cradle. Seems Blackberry's won't allow you to use a generic battery. Now you have to program the new battery so's it can trick the phone into thinking it's an OEM.
Put the new battery in the phone 'til it's refused. Then put both batteries in the cradle, 'til they talk to one another and the light goes out, then put the new battery in the phone and you're good to go.
All this done according to the Chinese directions on the back of the cradle, and lemme tell you, those Chinese didn't waste any money at all on a decent translator.
Somedays technology just sux.

Makes me glad to have US Cellular, go into a store and exchange your dead battery for a fully charged one. you can do that 2 or 3 times a month I think. makes getting rid of a bad battery pretty easy

Still better than other companies, but I'm guessing it will be gone soon.

I usually took stainless steel wire brush and worked the contacts over and got along fine on my old phone.... have not had trouble with the new one yet.

Phil might have a good post FINALLY.
I recall in the old days when slot cars would run slow, we would clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. That should work on the phone's too. same concept
