long story short the pto pump for the blower took a dump so now running the blower via outlet, it runs out for hydraulic capacity when turning and lifting and have to sit a wait a bit for the blower to pick back up.
would adding a power beyond fix the issue or just bite the bullet and replace the pto pump for the blower?

The nice thing is that as long as the blower is turning, you'll keep seed on the drum.
When you say "pick back up" are you saying the blower stops or just slows down??
I never run the pto pump at rated speed, so a little "slow flow" shouldn't hurt anything. However, take this advice with the caution that I've never tried what you're doing.

I'd think that the pump would be cheaper than a power beyond . Isn't that pump only an 8 gpm pump ? i always thought they were just glorified power steering pumps .
Silly question , but does the 3688 have flow controls on the SCV's ? possibly turn down the lift cylendars slightly to keep more flow to the pump since it's more a function of pressure than flow with no more volume than those cyl's take ?

My 50 series IH had flow controls on them and I had to tweak them to get my hydraulic sprayer pump to run right and also operate the planter. I would guess the 3688 would have them too. I put hydraulic couplers in the lines from the pto pump to the planter and that slowed down the flow enough that I took them back out. Wanted to be able to switch to end transport without taking the pump off but it didn't work out. So the problem might be the couplers.

BTW: You'd better replace the whole planter instead of just the pump----I've heard you'll go broke with that planter.
