Since I bought this tractor last fall, it has been having trouble intermentently not starting, of various causes. Rebuilt starter, new batteries, decent cables and connections, etc. Yesterday, went to use it and it clicked. Couldn't boost it either. Checked it over this evening, under the hood in front of the firewall (bear in mind this is a cabless tractor) there is a little solenoid of some description that appears to be my circuit fault, it appears to be clicking there. What is it and how much of a booger is it going to be to replace?

Ive never done it. But can you jump the starter with a screwdriver? Make absolutely sure you have it in park first..

I have a brother in law with the same tractor and sounds like the same problem. Finally found a bad spot in the wiring harness. Hope the starter was it and your problem is solved.

Going to piddle with it tomorrow see if I cant see anything obvious. Cut hay all today, finally got a break in the weather and laid down 20 acres.
