How much N can I use 2 by 2......can I apply straight 28%.....say 15 gal. , if not.... cut half and half with water? This on 53 crop acre 80 that I will be farming for the last time...will be applying some N - P and K bulk spread. Want to get biggest bang possible with liquid starter bucks. John

University recs (take with a grain of salt) here the popular blend is some combination of 10-34-0 and 28-0-0-5, six to seven gallons of each.

usual rule of thumb is 10 gal per inch off row..below the seed of course.

We used 10 gal 28% 2x2 for years, the only time we had a problem was one dry spring-you could see some burn where the planter drove crooked, mostly where he dropped in on the ends. For no till or cold weather you need phos imho.

Thanks everone for the replys......Agree 420 on the need for some phos in the row , our soils around here are generally high in phos ( dairy country ) but do agree some concentrated near the seed would be best. 4430....are you saying you get the 4 P and 6 K from the qt. of Micro's ? Josh...You are saying 28% and 10-34 are compatible.....won't turn to soup ?? I do know the other liquid starters available here ...6-24-6 and 9-18-9 are not . Thanks again !! John

Never seen it, but have heard it done and UGA Extension lists it in their guide. Jar test is all I can say.
