Ok..so i had to break down and buy a new to me truck(Ill give you one guess what was about to go wrong with my dodge). Dont know why I didnt see it, but the new truck has airbags on the rear suspension. Just has the tire valves in the back to pump them up. Question is...should I have any pressure in them when I run empty. And what is the max pressure I should use loaded? I have no manual and am not sure where to look for one.

A friend of mine has them on an old pickup he has, it has a compressor to air them up on the truck. It seems like a recall that he always has some air in them when empty.

jw360 : Is this a ton pick-up ? Never heard of air-bag suspension..... of course , my two trucks are ton 89 Ford and 92 S-10 Chevy. Air was just for breathing back then , not suspending !!! John

I have an 05 Ford 250 with air bag. I've only had it a few months so don't really know much about it except we have never changed the air pressure. I've hauled heavy loads and then regular driving. Acts OK to me just running it like it is.
Man, I just went back and read what I just wrote....didn't realize I was that damn stupid. I guess I don't know. You're gonna have to figger it out.

I don't know a thing about airbags. I have a Timbren kit on a 3/4 ton pickup that I frequently use to haul a 400 gal water tank or pull a 16' bumper pull stock trailer. Timbren is simple and durable with no air to mess with and doesn't affect the empty ride. If starting from scratch I would recommend Timbrens to anyone looking for some suspension support.
