Looking pretty good here inNort. Cent Wis....cold mornings the last 10 days have slowed it up....with some frost nipped leaves but general condition of the plant is good. While we did have well above temps earlier , they were not so extreme that excessive top growth occured so now when higher temps return , the potential for an excellent first crop looks very good.
We do not appear to be having the problems south of us where fast early growth appears to be frozen off by cold early Apr. morning freezes. Life is good ....John

How bad will it be for the guys south of you for feed for the year?

ac : I'm guessing it is not as bad as it first llooked...alfalfa is a tuff plant and will probably come back OK Some thin stands will be cut and harvested in time to put corn in for silage so net affect will be not much forage lost. Enought to feed , just supplemented differently. John
