I run my oats through a cow, 2 5 gallon buckets at a time. Combine them, thinking I will try to bale the straw this year. Sometimes there is a small market if you look hard, but most of the oats around here are just grown for the grazing or hay or covercrop or just something to gentle cows with. I like growing oats myself, always a nice crop to grow for me.

Josh , I'm on the North end of oats.....just finished planting today. Have cash market for the grain and never have any trouble selling the straw to the dairies in the area. BTW , usually combine late July-early Aug..... when will yours be ready? Another BTW...thanks for the pictures....I've got to figure out how to do that...John

I planted those, started just after Thanksgiving, finished December 1st. Should be ready mid May if this weather holds up, they are just becoming an expensive propisition this year, second trip round with the pivot.
Pictures are easy, just shrink them down and attach them in the box with the button that says Browse. I wish that you could attach multiples and not have to have 10 20 30 posts, but apparently this software doesn't work like that, and I am too stubborn to get a photobucket or farmphoto account.
