Turn signals aren't working correctly on my 1978 Impala. No matter what I do with the turn signals or 4-way flasher both lights on the dash flash.
If I use the turn signal for a left turn, the rear left flashes as it should, and both front lights flash.
If I use the turn signal for a right turn, the right rear flashes as it should, and both front lights flash.
If I turn on the 4-way hazard flashers, both front and both rear lights flash like they are supposed to.
Do I simply have a bulb with a burned out element, or a more serious problem like a wire crossed or broken? If it's the bulb, how do I determine which one it is?
TIA for replies.

could be a bad ground wire, I've seen some weird things happen with lights if you get a bad ground wire. Good news is it will be easy to fix, bad news probably gonna be hard to find.
