Pics or it didn't happen Well maybe I can get the pics tomorrow, geez what a demanding public. I had hoped to finish stripping tonight and get my planter set up to run, but looks like I got about 5 more hours before I get it finished up, lack a little less than 10 acres to go, and hopefully I can get away without rerunning any strips.

If I said whatever I want, would it be an acceptable answer? ;D
No, really, field in the picture is going to corn, I also have plates to plant peanuts, cotton, soybeans, and grain sorghum. Not to mention I have oats on the opposite field to the picture that are about half booted at the moment, neighbors have wheat on three sides of me. Lots of rye grown around here, I have planted barley before, I know canola will grow here. Had a fellow come looking for people to grow sunflowers for oil around here, and then you have all the veggies. I also grow alfalfa hay, so far has done good, this year part of it is having a hard time getting started. South Georgia is a very versitale state when it comes to crops.

Hell, Joshua, I don't think that qualifies as "ugly". Looks pretty good to me.

I'm not seeing very many problems with it at all. What's your system down there, do you make strips in the fall and spring or just spring? What kind of fert goes on?

Spring run, the ideal setup would be to tie my planter and ripstrip together, but I am a bit short on tractor without doing a few modifications, although I will tie them together one winter when I have my own shop, simpler that way. I apply no fertilizer in my strips, I could, but I dont have the equipment necessary to do it at the moment. Just an idea of what I am pulling, I need to get new pictures of it, Attachments:

Josh : Did you buy that strip machine or put it together yourself?? Is that a two section rolling basket or one ?? Also do you spread fert. before you strip or just with the planter?? I guess mainly wondering how you handle the N required ?? So many questions.......John

I guess mainly wondering how you handle the N required ?? So many questions.......John Machine is a modified KMC, actually one of the earlier ones, later ones have a different shank and more spring pressure on the rear, new style has everything behind the shank on a parallel linkage. Basket is one wide basket. I will tell you it pretty much was put together with odds and ends out of a dealers shop, it wasn't intentional for it to turn out this way. Spread 2-3 tons of chicken litter ahead of the planter, popup, and sidedress twice with N. Kinda wish I could put out N with the pivot, but none of our pivots really lay correctly for that.

Up here strips are made in the fall or early spring so the ground can warm up ahead of planting. Being able to strip and plant at the same time sure would be nice.
