Been offered an older variety in its stead, I can either get a conventional or RR2 of this variety, or I can also get a RR2 variety that I have planted its cousin before. Already was planning to call the airplane to spray a fungicide on it, would not be hard to add an insecticide as I already need too for stinkbugs anyway. Any good reason to not save the money and plant the conventional or the RR2 corn and not worry about the insect traits? I'd raise cain otherwise but at this point with less than a week and being I have not paid for any seed, I'm not arguing.

No need for traited seed unless you have a weed, corn borer, or root worm problem.

Just out of curosity, what is seedcorn costing up there. They said $285 a bag for this, which seems a might high to me.

Bought it today, 18 bags of Dekalb 68-04, which is a sister line to some I planted last year that I thought did pretty good, although it could have stood a little more help from me, ranked second in the variety trials. Anyway, cost per bag RR2 only was $265 a bag.
