Again. I do believe nearly everyone after striptill the last 10 years has went out and bought a harrow and ripper bedder and went back to full conventional. Neighbors have a new bedder on order, they claim they cant get a stand with strip till. I was trying to go strip till, it is the way I want to go, just interesting that is no longer the thing to do. I have watched our land wash and work to stop it, and watch our neighbors land wash, I don't know how many tons of sand have washed down of the neighboring farm onto us, we have a berm 10' tall on one end of our farm and 10' deep on the other side from all the erosion across the fence. Even when we have had to till land, I won't do it till at the time of and try to leave cover in place as long as possible. It just amazes me a bit, I don't fault anyone for farming the way they do, but I hate to see scarred up land.

Look on the bright side you should be able to pick up a strip-till unit pretty cheap.

Would seem that way, really would. I'm contemplating buying a 6 row and a little steel and paint and make a 4 and a 2 and sell the 4.

Im even seeing more and more used strip till for sale up here in iowa. Maybe they moved on to newer strip rigs, but there seems to be a little slow down in the enthusiasm for the process. Dont know if that means a thing, but by the time i can afford one, everyone else will have moved on (or back) to something else.

Was at a sale this weekend with a 6 bottom flipover that sold for 5500 dollars, wouldn't have brought scrap 5 years ago. Saw land broke for peanuts as well. Mind you, I kind of like breaking land, especially for peanuts, but it costs too much anymore to do that much. Wish I knew the answer, wish it were notill but that does not work at all here.
