Anyone ever heard of this combination? For some reason (sentimentality, I guess) I'm having a hard time cutting up my old 8650 with a blown engine. I do have a perfectly good DT466 that came out of a dump truck. How bad of a job would it be to do a "Kinze style" conversion?

Im sure it could be done. The 466 isnt a huge motor so you might get by with no frame or sheet metal alterations. I dont know how it would bolt to your tranny? Ive not heard of any conversions using that motor , all the deeres around here that have had a conversion have used the 855 cummins .
Why not find another Deere motor at a salvage yard? They might even take the 466 in on trade.
Im not sure either if the 466 has as much HP as what the deere engine for that Tractor would. I think the 466 is around 220 hp . The deere is what 290?
