Why is my JD 455 such a PIA to get started when I change the fuel filter. Is there a place to prime it that Im missing. I fill the filter back up with fuel but it is still a pain to get primed.

Guess I thought those had electric fuel pumps.

They do have an electric fuel pump in the tank. They are supposed to be self priming. Maybe your fuel pump is getting a little weak or the strainer in the tank is partially plugged? May have to turn the key on and walk away for a few minutes for it to prime itsself. I don't work on them much at all anymore.

I put a new fuel pump on it a couple years ago. Although I never let it run for a few minutes when I change the filter . I will try that the next time. I am probably not being patient enough.

you might cycle the key on and off and run the pump a few times before starting just a guess!
