I had this posted in the Powered Equipment but got to thinking maybe I posted this is in the wrong forum.
I am about to tackle new stainless "seals" on a JD 220 Flex Platform. Any good advice before I get started? Anyone else done one recently that can tell me how they did it and what tricks might be involved?
I ussually just dig in to this type of project and don't mind finding things out the hard way but thought maybe since there was such a good showing on this new site maybe someone with good experience can help.
Thanks in advance.

If I had known you asked here too, I would have replied here instead of on NAT. Yes, it's a %$%^ bitch, but it's doable.

I don't know if the new panels are still made the same, but the last ones that I got had a small strip of carbon steel as a wear strip that fits under the sickle holder. I thought it was stupid to put this carbon steel strip on the stainless panels as the carbon steel would rust. I took the panel to a local fabrication shop and had the carbon steel strip replaced with a stainless steel strip. I have had trouble in the past with the carbon steel wear strip coming unwelded. The panels with the stainless strip have been on for eight years with no problems-yet. As far as putting the panels on, use gloves and a lot of patience. It is a lot easier if you have help to hold the panel in place. Good luck!!
