Local dealer has sold 2-3 since that style came out (sell mostly knize). The only majors have been 1 had random electrical shorts (row shut-offs I believe), and 1 had issues with residue wheels balling up. The guys that have them seem to like them, and they are extra heavy. One of the planters they sold is used for beans only.....its a secondary machine.

We run one a 16/31.. I'm thinking my opinions gonna be different than Ricks..lol. We run it with a 1790 deere.
Worst part, is that it sucks on soft ground, those 4 tire's aren't enough. Next worse part is that POS pro 600 monitor. Most confusing thing ever. Well unless that that is the only monitor you've ever used. Then the boxes only hold 40units, which kinda sucks with our 50unit boxes.

If our ground is that soft, the crop suffers anyways.
I to was not very happy with the 600 in the begining, once its understood, it can be a wonderful tool.
As far as the hoppers, I do bulk seed with a scaled tender so its not an issue. However they should hang the sob that offset the hopper outlet, only some educated moron would do that.

We bought a new 1240 24-20" new for the 2009 season. This was our 3rd and final year with it. The lead openers were new to start all 3 years, and prior to this year all of the openers, firming points and seed boots had to be replaced.

Our soils are stony and abrasive. About 2000 acres is all we can get on the openers.
