Ground is really hard here, and when this happened it stopped the tractor dead in it's tracks. And the updated version..

I still dont get how they broke. Is the ripper trying to go deeper in the ground causing the break. Just seems weird how they would break going through the field with it in the ground.

They are the only thing keeping the ripper out of the ground, as the ground gets harder it tries to go deeper. It's made to go down. You should see those tires squat when it gets really hard.

I guess it needs some type of gauge wheel so when you lower it the lift wheels are off the ground and the gauge wheel takes all the pressure. I probably wouldnt go to all that trouble unless that problem happens alot.

Yea, it could probably us the same gauge wheels the 3pt model uses on the back. I wouldn't want to take all the pressure off the lift wheels but it would take some of the pressure off.
