never heard of a coverboard for a ripper , have heard of disks mounted to swingarms that smoothed the ridges down.

The coverboard is the deal bolted on the ripper shank just above the point.

Never heard of them either. My Sunflower has leveling disks behind the main frame but nothing on the shanks.

What we call a coverboard on our DMI 730 is the wide plate above the ripper point. The wider the coverboard the more dirt covers up the crop residue. We went to narrower coverboards when we increased tractor hp, because we could pull the implement faster, and covered too much residue.
