Instead of futzing around with a ‘jobs program,’ just cut taxes to 10%. No deductions. No explanations. No credits. No nonsense. You pay 10% on all your income. Period.
Heck, serfs in the Dark Ages only had to pay 10% of their incomes (usually in the form of labor) to their lords and masters. Why should Dear Readers have to pay more?
A flat 10% tax rate would cut off the flow of blood to the zombies. Most would die off. Bad debt would implode. Bad businesses would go broke. Bad assets would become worthless.
Then, with the necrotic economic tissue cleaned away…the economy could heal. And then, grow.

I've long advocated scrapping the current IRS system for a 15% Flat Tax on any earnings over the first $30,000.
But guess Steve Forbes didn't have perfect blow dried hair and the television look that one needs to be a presidential candidate.

Let the politicians spend that amount and no more. Then, we'll have no more debt and no more Federal Reserve System. We could also issue non-interest bearing currency ... "Greenbacks" like Lincoln did to finance the Civil War, and JFK did before he was assassinated. Unfortunately, the criminals running the asylum want us to do as they say, not as they do. Thou shalt no steal, for example, is taken seriously by Patriots and Christians, but utterly ignored by the Satan's Bankers.

Didn't Forbes say at the time that something like 8% would raise the same revenue as the current system??
Politicians would never go for it, though. They'd be job killers. Think of all the IRS agents, tax attorneys, and HR Block desk jockeys that would be out of a job.
I say too fricking bad. I like the flat tax idea. Set an income limit, and tax anything over that, done.
The second best idea is a national sales tax on non-essential items. Put a sales tax on everything but food and gas.
