If I were you I'd try to find a decent rotary, if you can find one in your price range. I ran a 715 for many years with a 13' grain head. It was a good machine, not many problems and I knew how to fix everything on it, but if I could find a rotary in similar shape for not too much more money, I'd get the rotary. If the money difference was more than you'd like, a 715 would be a good machine. We never had a corn head on ours---ran all the corn with a NI Uni, 3 row head--that was fun--glad to see that go down the road.

My brother and I bought a 915 back in about '98 when we were getting into farming.
Total piece of junk.

360 Topshot has the plan ! Damn it's be many moon's ago , when we bought a new 815 , did pretty good FOR the day , only run it a season and a half , barn took a BIG hit from lighting , lost everything but tractors and plows . The went with a 915 D , They will spit out walkers with the best of them , matter of fact i worked a summer at IH dealer puting in recall bushings in the walkers , Only thing I did work on was the mill . Go with a axle you will be glad you did .
