Between Dad and I we have around 100 head of cows plus what we have in the lots that range from bred heifers, bulls, and fat cattle. I myself have 35 mamas. We keep the herds separate even though the farms adjoin each other (except for the few purebreds I have mixed in with his). We work together, I get the shaft in exchange for equipment ;D he sits back and drinks coffee ;D. He's a full timer, I'm a part timer.
I couldn't ask for a better hired hand though for when I'm not around.

I'm just a small time player. I buy feeders when I can buy them right, sit it out when I can't. Right now, my pastures are growing corn and soybeans. Easier to send the grain in than to run it through cattle. As with all cycles, there certainly will by opportunities for me to have cattle here again. Good times don't last. Good people do.

Got around 50 cows 98% angus. Will feed about 75 calves this year. Blacks and stein's. Used to have around 80 cows but pastures seem to be going to wildlife and horses.

Good to see this addition.
Supreme Commander's Neegar so I'm not privvy to numbers and if I was I'm under gag order not to disclose to public read places.
Its enough to piss me off and hate alarm clocks in the winter.
But not enough to make me completely quit.
17 years with the same Deweze bed on 3 pickups now.

Do you ever have that right! A balebed is a must have for any farm.... livestock oriented or not! The uses for that machine are endless and I won't ever be without one as long as I'm in the agricultural field.

I run 350- 400 hd. beef cows in Idaho & Utah. 120 cow dairy, also sell few springer Hol. heifers. Market most all calves on Superior Livestock.
Seems like I'm always on the backend of a north or southbound cow trailing her to better feed! Like one Ole boy told me one time, you stupid cowboys ain't got no more sense than to get behind a stupid cow and just follow her around! LOL
