How far down do you see them going? Or better yet how high do they go once corn comes back down and grass and hay are available to the guys in the central U.S.? National herd size is still down and a lot of animals are going to the kill plants now just so they don't have to be fed. Per ca pita consummation is also down. Looking at buying a small heard (35-40) from a guy starting to down size but not sure if i should wait or pull the trigger now? What do you think

It seems like cows are a little cheaper. If you have feed it might be OK. If demand doesn't get killed by high prices, I have to think over the long haul the cattle market will be strong. The key words here are "if you have feed".

I agree, if you have the feed go for it. I wouldn't be afraid of the beef market going in the shitter. Strong exports are a lot of the reason beef prices are so high. I really doubt if that will change any time soon.
