A couple Steiger panthers here. one has a 3406 cat and the other has a 855 cummins. Both have 20sp trannys. Which do you like better? The 3406 or the 855. My 270 has the 3306 and I'm going to be needing tires soon. Sometimes I think it would be cheaper to trade tractors than to put eight tires on this one. I wouldn't mind having one of the big dogs anyway.

Other than that both seem to lug good and have plenty of power. The cat seems to be alittle easier on fuel but thats just guessing. I havent actually measured it out to see how close they really are on the fuel.

Ours is a 1988 John Deere 4850. What is the implement its hooked to? It an unverferth 7 shank disk chisel. The tractor is plenty oversized for it but we used to pull it with a 4430 and just never got a bigger one.

190 Magnum. It seems to put out quite a bit more power than rated and is plenty big enough for anything I have.

Our current 2005 2360 turned to 425hp, and still not enough tractor.

MF 2775 with a turboed Perkins 640 V8. Got to think of it as a disposable tractor 'cause once you start fixing there would be no end to it.

Cat MT865B.. Has way more power than anything we have to put behind it. Although a blue jet ripper all the way in the ground in a drought will stop it. This could almost be the view from the otherside.
