Anyone else besides me wish that company actually had some mgmt worth a shit?
I am getting so G'damn tired of going in there and arguing with them about things that are going into agricultural equipment and they still try to charge me the sales tax because thier "auditor" says that its not "farm use".
Grrrr....
Tried to buy a 14" inner tube for an auger wheel. Said they couldn't take the tax off. Yea, bullshit, I know those gdamn machines have a way to bypass it at the pay counter.
So what is the alternative? I'm getting sick and damn tired of this chase. Arguing with the store gal.... and I'm not even really pissed at her because her hands are tied. It's those &&*@#%@% Asshats in Missouri at the base running the show that I want to see tarred and feathered.
How does one get around having to fight this bullshit in all these stores?

We got one here and I've all but quit going there as they never have what I need or if they do it's only one of them!
Really nothing more than a home type store and they should drop off the farm part of their store name.
Local Rural King seems to me going more that way too !

Email or write a letter to the headquarters explaining your situation and maybe they will send you a check for the 87 cents of tax. ;D

The way I get it the state is who determines what is taxed. I recall having to pay tax on a fuel tank I bought at the local COOP years ago. It was for off road fuel for the farm. I had to pay tax on it because it was another one of those items that has to be taxed. I know the closest TSC told me a few years ago that the problem is if they get caught it gets every store in KS in trouble not the one where it happened. I bought a little electric seeder years ago to put out some clover on set aside acres. They had one on sale that was billed for an ATV, when I got to the checkout they wanted to charge tax. I argued that it was farm use, but they said since it was called an ATV spreader tax had to be charged. That was at a very good independent farm store that finally sold out to Orscheln's. It remained a pretty good store for a while, but has become a lawn and garden, clothing store like all the chain stores. It sure as hell sucks when it is a bona fide farm use.

The state dictates what is taxable and what can be farm use non tax. How can the stores know that you are using it on farm or not if it's generic like a tire tube? Not everyhting that you will use on the farm is exempt.
Now if you want to complain about how they never have prices righ,t or inventory, or somebody to help you then I am in your corner.

The alternative, move to a state with no sales tax.

No, I'll tell you the alternative (and moo... ks is a no sales tax state on farm use products).
I called goodyear this morning. Friday the tube will be here with another shipment of goodies to the truck shop. He's sending a paper along with the driver for me to sign that says this tube is tax exempt.
Now how g'damn *uckin* hard is it for Orschelns' to do the same G'damn thing?
It aint... It's just an inconvenience for them asshats and they don't want to change how they do books or procedure so to hell with them.
The older I get, the more people I meet. The more people I meet the more contacts I make, the more contacts I make, the less I buy local, the less I buy local the harder it is for those here to make a living and when they have to have a benefit to live.....they can kiss my ass. I'll tell them "my procedure" doesn't enable me to be charitable.

PA. has an online form I fill out, print, sign and hand in at any location I choose to use for farm purchases.
If I'm wrong, then it's between me and the state to fight out, and the store is pretty much out of the loop.

That, or just get some sorta tax i.d. number and then do everything tax free and pay a lump sum at the end of the fiscal year. Hand the paper to every place I do business with and they can shove that tax up their hind end and I don't have to deal with that malarky anymore.

Really nothing more than a home type store and they should drop off the farm part of their store name. Local Rural King seems to me going more that way too ! thats another thing that chaps my backside about that store. The home base seem to think they know exactly wth we need out here in northwest ks. The gal at the store has argued with the brass hats more times and they won't listen. Like you we lack alot of things we need in this store. And... half the crap they carry noone cares about. I'd like to see a TSC store show up here. I've seen alot of stuff they carried that these dingledorks don't. Even our local ACE store seems to handle more then they do, just didn't have the innertube on hand. As time goes on, I see more and more I'm going to be keeping a 25,000 dollar parts store on hand anymore at the farm just so I don't have to wait on crap. It's damn foolish living this short distance from town, having the internet at my disposal and still having to carry supplies like that on hand. Nevertheless, its starting to look that way.

If those G****n M****r F*****g C*********s do not trust me that I am telling the truth what the *uc* that product is going on or being used for then I don't want to do business with them. I charge everything. My name goes on every receipt for every purchase made tax free for farm use. That shouldn't be their concern anymore... If the auditor or tax people have an issue, they can hunt me up. I have heard that malarky before that "we dont' know that your going to use it for farm use". Yea.. well... if I say it is.... it's noone's damn concern after I sign the ticket. At that moment it becomes my problem and my issue and not thiers. If it is still thier problem... I suggest they go get a new cpa. One more after thought..... When people accept that effn line of malarky too from the store owners and employees and roll with it.... all it does it fuel them to keep using it and make thier lives at the paper end of things easier. I get damn irritated at John q. public for not having a sack or a backbone and standing up to these people. I drill them at the counter everytime they give me hell they don't know what its goin on. I'm not nice when they start questioning my honesty and half the time I'm loud enough people outside the store can hear me. I'm sure more times then not I've gotten the tax taken off so I shut the hell up and get out of there but I dont' give a damn...... at that point, its business, not personal, and its my money I'm watching. If I truly gave a flying rats butt what the occasional bystander thought, I wouldn't be even on here seeing if I have a shared disgust with this farm store and protocols of similar nature. Bout time in this country people quit taking that "silence is golden" bullshit so to heart and give holy hell where it is deserved to change "protocol"s. In the same sense though Jim.... so you don't think I'm a complete asshole (we all know I am one... LOL) I am very cordial and appreciative when things do go my way. I am one that I will thank employees for helping me. Wish them a good day. Visit with them in the stores and generally friendly to them. I am very considerate when people do thier best to help me. In my mind.... there should be more in this world like this. But then again... opinions vary I guess.

As the man said, after being slashed in the face with a razor, "Ha, you missed."
And the razor bearer said, "Shake you head boy."

Razor bearer musta been using the force and it wasn't strong with him. He slashed the racing helmet for life at full speed.
