Haven't researched LRP much. Will be looking in to it. Thanks 4 that.
As much as anything I like to read the market reports and think about who made the most money. It can change and the bred stock deal can swing pretty widely (with the exception of the bred heifer/2nd calvers) depending on who was at the barn and how the cows in the ring fit their program.
Maybe things are different in SD. We're pretty fortunate 'round these parts to have lots of barns. I have talked to people in Colorado who don't have near as many local buying opportunities.

I would think if things ever improve in Texas and Oklahoma, provided they don't go to hell somewhere else cows and heifers will be pretty wild price wise. At least one year I got more for my heifers than I did my steers, that might happen again.
